how-to make fender flares (bolt-on type)
This mini-tutorial shows just one of several ways this can be done...

What you need:
- styrene strip 0.4mm x 6.3mm (.015'' x .250'')
- styrene strip 0.75mm x 2.0mm (.030'' x .080'')
- stretched sprue
- modeling cement
- hobby knife
- file

Step 1:
Glue the thin styrene strip to the inside of the wheel arch and let dry.

Step 2:
Once the thin strip is completely dry, glue the thicker strip to the outer side of the thin strip. Let dry thoroughly.

Cut the thin strip to match the thicker strip.
Step 3:
Glue the stretched sprue to the edge where the fender flare meets the body.

Step 4:
Cut and sand the fender flares to the desired shape.

PS: You can use this technique to build a support for wide body kits or wide wheel arches (just fill with putty and sand smooth).

Haha. This is a cool tutorial, I might have to use it to fit some fatties in some project cars.
