2002 transmission

i have a 2002 saturn the car transsmision runs fine but when i put in drive after the car is at normal tempature when i put in reverse it take a couple a senconds before it goes into reverse sometime in jumps into reverse do u think that is time for a new tranny or is there a sensor that is bad thank u for the help:banghead:
