why don't you seal the tyres with a coat of clear flat (probably thinned through your airbrush) to get rid of the shiny sidewalls. I think it would make them look much better. You can always make a round mask if you want to keep the wheel centres shiny.

That's a jolly good idea. I purchased an airbrush at the beginning of the year but have not used it yet (partly because I am scared/partly because I already have lots of tins of spray paint that I want to use up first). I only have gloss clear which is why I didn't use a flat clear.

I have resolved myself to decant some gloss clear, flatten it with Tamiya flat and thin it and try out the airbrush on the F189. It is about time I did.

I would probably try to buy some flat clear like gunze hobby colour (or the like) because it's good and easy to use. I use clear flat a lot so it's handy to have a dedicated jar. I've never really used the tamiya flat additive, but seems like more hassle, and it would be hard to match the shine if you ever wanted to. But it's up to you.

Good to see you back at Billy I know what you mean about slow progress I use Testors Luster less flat clear seems to do the job it's easier to get for me then Gunze.

Yeah, I guess getting a flat clear will be the easiest solution. I'm just gonna go with whatever I can get here in the UK.

I find this works wonders thinned with tap water and applied with a wide brush.
