Especially when it's cold out, of course. But the fluid isn't freezing, it just doesn't squirt out. It's made for some pretty dangerous driving lately, I was wondering if it was a common problem that is the nature of the car, or if it should be replaced.

Can you hear the pump running when you call for windshield washer fluid?
The fluid may not be frozen in the reservior bottle, but it still maybe frozen at the nozzle. Also make sure that the nozzles are not obstructed by snow and ice between the base of the windshield and the hood.

I have a theory that if you don't use the washers often enough, the alcohol evaporates at the nozel, so the water freezes. And rain or freezing rain will also freeze the nozel.

I haven't heard it, but I haven't been listening too hard for it either. It's not obstructed but it sure won't squirt when it's cold!
I don't think I need a new pump because when it's over 40 or so, it works great.
I was just wondering if this is a chronic problem with these cars, but it doesn't seem like it.

Maybe the windsheild washer fluid is not up to par?
I bought some real cheap stuff a few years ago and had similar problems.
