26 QDM fault

I have a 26 QDM fault and I am hunting the cause. The EGR solenoid tests 75ohms, is this a typical reading of a failed solenoid? I have seen two specs on this solenoid: 20-50 ohms or 22-42 ohms. I guess I was expecting if my failed it might be further out of the spec limit than a reading of 75, but I have no prior experience with a failed solenoid either?

In the trouble shooting section of the QDM fault, they mention the seatbelt restraints system. I disabled that because, one of the motors for the seatbelts was screwed. I pulled the fuse on the circuit and cut the wires to the motor(long story, the cable was actually sticking out the side of the plastic drum, had to total remove the whole mess). Would that alone cause the QDM fault, is there a way to jumper the restraint system to confirm is coming from there?

Thanks,

Randy

I'm assuming you drive an older saturn s??? because of the seatbelt design. The EGR solenoid resistance spec is only 7-11 ohms so u have some pretty high readings

heres a basis wiring diagram http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/15885/

check those four fuses, check to make sure your A/C and cooling fan work, make sure all your dash lights work, then go from there.

a bad EGR solenoid tends to set both a code 26 and 32. but not always. i can't remember what the relation to the PREAST(seatbelt) module is.
