In other words, yes it's the same one.

Yes, and it's a very good kit if you don't mind the top half engine. Which looks good once in place, anyway. It just isn't suitable to display on its own without an engine bay around it.

nor is it very accurate. engine is completely inaccurate, looks to big, engine bay is to narrow, it has an S15 chassis (this would be cool in 1:1 though), from what I've seen the car really isn't all that great.

And they want $55, I think I will pass unless I can get a better deal elsewhere...

where did you find that price, so I don't bother going there? I've only been able to find them at that price (shipped) as well, very disheartening!

And they want $55, I think I will pass unless I can get a better deal elsewhere... Canadian, Australian...which dollar value is that?!
I'd be only paying US$25 shipped directly from Shizuoka, Japan to Houston, TX. (or two kits of the similar size for a total of US$46, including international shipping.)

If that's USD, then avoid that shop at all costs.. that's quite a rip. As someone else already mentioned, it should only cost you around $25 with shipping.

+1 let us know where to get this kit for $25 shipped, and I'll get one.

well, normally HLJ would be the place, but it's backordered
http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03873
rainbow ten, their stock list is hard to look through, but it's there listed under:
0040502410179,AOSHIMA,2000YEN,THE BEST CAR GT79 1/24 SILVIA S13 '91 w/ENGINE
http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html
Shipping from Japan usually takes between 1 1/2 - 2 weeks for me.
Occasionally there are ebay sellers that aren't ripping you off, but not today. I was lucky enough to get mine from a local guy at the D1GP drift finals for an even $20, woohoo
One reason these might be so scarce and pricy at the moment, from what I heard anyway, is Aoshima has some kind of licensing issue with Nissan at the moment and has (hopefully temporarily) suspended most of their Nissan models for orders, so if you can't find one for a fair price, or don't want to pay inflated prices, you might just be better off waiting a bit.
