ignition cylinder

I have a 99 Saturn sl2 , auto, w/ 96k miles. The problem is the key comes out of the ignition barrel even when the car is running. and the alarm keeps ringing when i open the door after I park the car and taken the key out. It seems to me as the barrel is worn out. Is that the case? what should I do to fix it? replace the barrel? if so would I have to replace all key locks around the car?

you need to replace the ign. lock cylinder. if you get it from the dealer, it will be coded like your original key. therefore, you will not need to re-code any other cylinders. they're really not that expensive. the parts dept. at my dealership usually has one of us code the cyl.'s for them, then they give it to who ever wants it. it's not that hard to code or replace it. need more help, e-mail me.
