Ok to make a long story short. something went wrong with my car... my rpm goes crazy at high rpms... I checked ecu... it blinks 8 times... checked code list... it says "Check crank angle sensor and replace is necessary" Where is the crank angle sensor? and how would I go about checking it??? I have a 91 civic dx 4dr.
all I have in it is... custom intake.... I heard the dual point fuel injection doesn't respond well to mods... but I've had this for sometime now...
someone please help
thanks

I think code 4 and 8 are the same and a while ago I had a code 4 Crank angle sensor. And the only way to fix that I think is getting a new distributor. Thats how I fixed mine cause everytime the check engine light well come on my car would feel sluggish and I couldn't rev past 4000rpm. But it should be your distributor.

Yeah dude i have '90 Si and had the same code, and I had to get a new New Distrubitor, i got one from Autozone, but it rebuilt one from Autozone, but it still showed the code. Apparently this is common problem. I found out fro a guy at the dealership that they dont rebuild the sensor properly in the ones from Autozone, so I had to get one from the dealership.
