I want to get some idea of what might be wrong with my car and how much it should run to fix it. I'm not from the area, I am a college student, and I don't know anyone here who knows a good mechanic. Last time I went to a mechanic myself and asked them to look at my timing chain they looked at everything BUT, and it cost a few grand to fix the tensioner for the timing chain because I had TONS of new parts that would fix the problem that didn't:banghead: .... On to what I have noticed....

stalling when it wasn't ran for a long time or when cold, replaced fuel filter it helped some

rough idle when stopped for a long period of time while in drive

brake light is out sometime, sometimes it's not

turn signal will flash like it's going out, and it will actually be out sometimes, sometimes not

starting up seems to hesitate sometimes

sometimes it slips when you give it the gas, I wouldn't say it feels like the transmission but rather like it is going to stall

service engine light is on, autozone says large emission leak, replaced gas cap haven't seen the light on for about a year

heating works sometimes, sometimes not

sometimes the radio will not work properly, won't turn on or off sometimes

I had problems with the door always being ajar, and my friends dad unhooked the door so the light inside would stay off. If you don't turn the car on or open one of the other doors NONE of the interrior lights that you can manually turn on work.

If anyone has had a similar experience or an idea of what I should have them look for I would appreciate the information greatly. If you have any idea what this might run to have fixed thats a plus. If you happen to know a good mechanic in Carrollton GA, that would also be helpful. I asked autozone about a mechanic but they had no idea... :shakehead Basically I don't know much about cars, and I don't want to sink massive amounts of money into this car, if it would probably be in my best interest to buy another one. I'm at about 130,000 miles, and hoping to keep this car another year, then buy another, as I am a broke college student  . Let me know what you think and thanks for taking the time to read this :-)
