1996 sable auto trans intermittent

Recently purchased with 110,000 miles. On 4 different occasions the car has failed to move forward in "D" after stopping at light. Put shift selector in "2" and it starts and can be shifted to "D" and works fine.
Afrter first episoded had trans fluid and filter changed.
Tried moving selector to park, then back to Drive but this doesn't do it.

No noise or other indications.

Any thoughts out there?

Hi, The forward clutch piston lip seal has a leak or is sticking at times, There is a ford TSB, (technical service bullitin) on that problem..Good Luck, Clay..

Thanks for the update, I found the TSB, don't think the tranny is worth the repair I am trying one of the TF additives to see if it frees up the seal any.
