Pain in the A$$

O.K i have a 90 civic base model, swapped out the motor put a LS in caouldent stand 4 gears an 90 hp...well first had a stripped oil pan bolt and by the hole it had a inprefection so even with a oversized plug still leaked so put in another pan i had, then bad alternator, so put another one in, now that i have it running and driving, check engine light comes one code 17 speed sensor, but my Speedo works...any ideas on this one? also now my front brakes are locked up and they worked fine before the swap dont know what coulda happened there..guess i gotta look into that when i get a chance now, possible brake lines? but both bad?

o and to top it off also needa a radiator when i did the swap noticed the old one was real bad dont know how it was workin in the car before...and i couldent find no exhaust bolts for the down pipe...the worst part is i thought the wiring and the welding my shift linkages was gonna be the pain...they both worked out good with no problems...

Did you recently swap out guage clusters? I did this once and had a defective speed sensor in the cluster. My speedo worked but i was getting code 17. Try another speedo portion of the cluster and see if it erases that code. You may have to swap your VSS in your tranny.

Nah the 90's had a mechanical drive on the tranny. Check to make sure the VSS wire is even connected to both the cluster and the ECU, and then try swapping them out.

dude try to repost and make some sense..u got alot of typos and confuse me..94+ LS's were VSS what yr LS do u got and what is the the problem in english..? not being cocky...without a paragraph whats wrong

try resetting the ECU.

good point ill try resetting it, as for the brakes fixed that...
