I have 2000 Chevy impala. My problems started with a little rumble& vibration on the passenger side wheel. Now when I drive and get up to about 20 mph the car just shake like it would if the alignment is bad. But here is where the tricky part comes in ... the shaking stops when you take you foot off the acelerator and let the car coast. Can someone please help me find out what this issue is I have been to like 4 different people and they are all saying it is something different and I keep throwing away money and it is really to close to Christmas to be doing that!!!!!

Welcome to AF, are you saying a qualified shop or dlr, cannot pinpoint this. From here, not driving it of course, I would be looking at a bad axle or possible bad trans/motor mount ( less likely). Without knowing what was suggested or checked, this is really not going to be fixed in this forum.

I have the same problem with my 2002. It has a small shake that is at its worse at 40 mph. I took it to the dealership they thought it was the tires, so I changed them but that did not help. Ill take it back after the fist of the year, maybe they can come up with a cause for the shake then.

I had this issue with my 02 Impala, right after I bought the car. The dealer told me that the rotation of the tires got messed up and probably nothing to worry about. About a few weeks later I had new GoodYear Triple Treads put on, with an alignment. After the new tires and alignment, the vibration was gone.
The vibration started around 30 or so MPH, but stopped around 60/65 MPH. My retired mechanic father-in-law told me that the dealer explanation was an excuse, because they just put the better tires in the front (did not want to put new ones on it to sell it), since they are the steering and drive wheels.
Oh well, I like my Triple Treads, they are really good in the snow and rain. I will be putting them on my wife's 06 Impala and my mothers Nissan Altima.
Happy Holidays!
