two best places to get aftermarket saturn parts.
the only easy mod you can do yourself is add a cold air intake (AEM or an ebay knockoff or make your own, assuming you have a manual tranny) and maybe a bored out throttle body. The only other ones worth doing is a cat back exhaust, header, springs, struts, sway bar if you can find one (i don't think they produce them anymore) and tires. A saturn isn't a performance vehicle; it is an economy car that can whup ass on an autocross track when properly equipped. Adding the listed performance mods to your saturn will boost hp by at the most 10-20 and i believe you actually LOSE torque in the process. If you want serious performance gains it will cost a lot of money, time, and won't be fun. It really isn't worth doing unless it is a hobby/race on the weekend kind of thing and your saturn isn't a daily driver. If you really want to do serious gains then check out www.turbosaturns.net.

ya ive been looking around, i have the same car with about the same milage, i just got a new obx exhaust header. its pretty hard trying to find mods for this car, but they are out there. check out www.cardomain.com (http://www.cardomain.com) ive been looking there for mods. as for the air intake, not really worth it unless u can somehow rig it to actually get cold air from outside the car in. cuz the only air intakes ive been able to find just suck up the warm air from in the engine, wich really loses the point of a cold air intake. so just get a cheap knock off unless ur skilled to rig up a better one. itll save u about 150. (i found a cheap one off ebay for $50. while AEM is arround $200)
check out mine, im posting up new pics as i get them. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3153220

like everyone else said above, the s-series is not a straight line winner. However in the handling dept it soarsss. In autocross my competition are wrx's, gti, tc, and mazda 6's. And even tho my car is an AUTO! i do quite well!
I suggest working on the handling of the car. new suspensions, good brakes, and good tires are the way to go. I just ordered yokahoma S.Drives for this seasons autox. I have Falkens on right now.
I also made my own intake. It has a flap on the end so i can close it during hard rain and the winter (alot of salt in NY). The difference can be felt! I feel more torque at the cruising rpms which is great.
I also have HID's for my high beams, Xenons for the low beams, Red leds lighting up the instrument cluster, Logitech sound systems, LED emegency strobe lights, and LED turn and brake lights.

Spark plugs and wires won't do anything unless the ones you have are defective. Don't get fancy on ignition stuff. You'll be wasting your money.

Really its just a butterfly flap at the intake. Where the fog light would go, is where the flap is. A pipe carries fresh clean air right into the air box and then the engine. I can remove the airbox and have it go straight to the engine but i only do that on race days. It works quite well! :)

Easy and cheap... find a stock header from a saturn sc2, i think they're in the 92 model year. then put an intake on and there's cheap and easy gain (not including the rest of the exhaust).

so wait.. you dont have a custom air intake going to the engine? just a pipe carrying cold air into the air filter box? or is it more custom work? and do u have a website showing ur car? like cardomain.com or something?

haha nope no car domain. sorry.
There is a pipe bring cold air from the front of the car to the air box for normal use. This way when water droplets are carried up the pipe at 70 mph they are caught in the box and drained out. The box is sealed air tight so a smaller vacuum is is formed by air being pushed into the box than what is there stock.
For racing, i take out the box and have a straight pipe going to the engine with a filter. The car is only like this for a couple of hours with a top speed of maybe 30mph, however.
Works great !

i think i understand... but instead of rigging up a flap on mine, could i just use a mesh cover? http://filtersunlimited.securesites.net/images/Aluminum%20Mesh.jpg
something like this?

I went to autozone and fabricated my CAI, I purchased a small air breather to attach to the valve cover and deleted to hose from the cover going to the intake. I hollowed out the cat, installed a cherry bomb and a fart can. The car responded nicely. Nice deep tone. I went with accell coil packs and spitfire wires. Those are easy mods. And dont cost much. Saturn is famous for that year with having cylinderhead issues where the valves dont seat propperly allowing stupid amount of oil consumption. I went and used Q advanced full synthetic oil and had to check it twice a week. I was going to install a stroker kit from horsepower freaks.com and do a under pully kit, but at 211,xxx miles the rod bearings blew out and punched a softball sized hole into the block. Make sure you replace the head, and do supporting mods. Also the radiator breaks easily if you bottom out the front on speed bumps or hit parking blocks. I recommend a aluminum scrape plate. A machine shop can prolly fab one fairly chreap. Loved the car.
