I was wondering if anyone could clue me in as to where the thermostat is located on the 2001 model.

If you're talking about the 3400 engine, it's located below the throttlebody. Follow your upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing which has a longer neck than most. I haven't had to work on mine yet but I think you have to remove the thottlebody to gain access for removal of housing.

Nuts, I should have been engine specific. lol. Its a 3800. Well, If I have to do anything like tear something off, I'm just not gonna do it. I'm doing it as a favor to my mom but, if its that big of a deal, she can take it some where. Haha!

Here is procedure to replace the thermostat on a SII 3800 engine. Some wrenching will be required. You be the judge. BTW - Be nice to your Mom.
