I hope someone can help me! i just got my 07 saturn with 95000 miles on it. If i stop at a stop sign, it dies on me. i have no problem restarting but its just not right. so i took it in, and they said they put it on a computer and it came back 4 bad marks. so they wont be able to do anything they said"". so now i guess we have to take it to a saturn dealership and see whats wrong. The guy at the first place, said it was the computer in my car and that is very expensive and bad. But it doesnt seem to be that bad! please tell me what this might mean or what i can do and if it really is bad!!!

happen to know what codes they pulled when they "put it on the computer"? sometimes the egr pintle sticks open because of carbon build-up. this would cause it to die when coming to a stop. but, without knowing the code(s), i don't think anyone could properly diagnose your problem. by the way, whoever told you it is the pcm, don't let them look at your car anymore. here at our dealership, we only charge $45.00 for engine diagnostics. it's not always a bad thing to take it to the dealer. (although i know sometimes it can be out of the way)

ohh! thank you, umm they didnt tell me what the codes were, they just said it came up 4 errors, but im assuming it could be anything, im not sure what to do,maybe call some mechanics and see if they are just really familiar with saturns and someone also said it might be something with the crankshift??

they probably mentioned the crankshaft sensor. if the ecm stops recieving its signal, the ignition system will stop firing. you could take it to like autozone and they'll scan it and tell you the codes for free. but don't let them diagnose it.(no offense intended to anyone who reads this and works at autozone)

ok ok... thank you, so when they tell me the codes, or if i can still get them from this first guy, then tell you what they are so maybe someone or you can tell me where i can get it fixed and if its a lot of work and money? otherwise just go to a saturn dealership?

I have seen the PCM go bad in a dodge truck, but it is pretty rare I think. Get those codes and you can go from there. Even if it is bad, it may be reprogrammable I think.
