Hi
A Windstar I am working on shows an 11/99 build date, but shows 2000 model year by VIN, i.e. the 10th character is a Y.
What year would I consider it to be for parts purposes?
Thanks

I believe it would be a year 2000 sinceI have a 99 windstar and it was made in 11/98 and only 1999 windstar parts work, but lets see what others say about it.

My '98 says it was built in '97 so I'm guessing you're OK to assume it's a 2000.

Thanks for the replies.
As I turned in last night I realized: What model year vehicles was Ford producing in November of '99? DOH!
I had always just opened the door, looked at the data plate and read the date to determine model year. Clearly that can be misleading. 10th character in the VIN is the true test.
