My wife has complained after doing the Christmas shopping of the rear brake lights staying on. I have not seen this issue just yet so I dont know were to look except the brake plunger. I looked on here and it could be the REM.. Any one know were to look for this unit on a 2001 ? I know they will stay on oneday were I will see it. Just wanted to get a jump on it because after the Thanksgiving holiday is up I will be back on a 10-14 hour shift and no time to work on it. Any help?? thanks,Gary

This has just started happening to me a few times on my 2003 SEL. As a habit now, I put my foot under the brake plunger and pull up slightly to release when I leave the van. I looked at the plunger and it doesn't seem to be sticking. I would be interested in any ideas anyone else has. Thanks Ed.

This happened to me about a year ago (I think). I sprayed the crap out of the plunger with WD40 and it never happened again. Put something down on your floorboard to catch the dripping WD40 while you are doing this.

Yes I am starting think in may be the plunger along with the adjustable pedal. It may come in to play as well. The brake lights wont stay on anymore so I have not traced it down yet. Thanks for the reply.

Finally the rear brake lights stayed on for me the other day and it was the brake pedal plunger I cleaned around it a little with electrical cleaner and have had no problems after. Will take another look at it here soon. Thanks for the reply..Always think this site is great. Short on time and money dont go to a mechanic.. Look here first...:grinyes:

I replaced the Brake On Off (BOO) switch on my '96 for intermittent no brake lights.
It was cheap and easy.
