i'm having an issue with the heating system.
back in the summer, i replaced the waterpump and other related items.
for the past couple of weeks i haven't had any heat.
i just replaced the ect. still no heat.
what else do i need to check ? also checked the small fuses.
not sure about the relays. what do i need to check them?
any ideas?????
does anyone know about a heater valve near the firewall??

well i just discovered that my lower hose from the radiator to the thermorstat is cold.
so maybe the stat is stuck closed.
will replace it and see what happens.

What about a stopped up heater coil so the heated coolant never enters? Just a guess, but I'm sure there is a valve of some sort there. Good luck.

I don't know much about the heater coils in Saturns, only in older trucks where I have had some work done. But yes, in most of them the coil is located around or behind the glove box. Saturns may have a completely different setup than these though. Just out of curiosity, is the car getting up to normal operating temperature?

yes, it gets to normal operating temp.
about half way on the temp gauge.
the heat becomes luke warm for a few minutes, then it gets cool.

there is a door inside of the hvac module that opens and closes to allow air to pass through the heater core. it moves to control the selected temp. a cable runs to it from the temp. knob on the ip. listen to hear if the door is moving. if not, it could be stuck, the cable could be loose, or broken, or the back of the switch may be broken. from what you've said already, it sounds like coolant is flowing through the heater core. so the heats there, there's just no air moving through it to get to you.

ksion15 is prpbably right.
The slide temperature selector is prone to being operated too harshly as compared with a knob. This could possibly cause breakage to the cable or the plastic connectors.
