Definitive spark plug replacement method?

I have a 2002 LS with the 3.8L 3800 Series II engine. I am used to the simple V6/v8 or I4 spark plug / wire replacements, but the mounting of the 3800 is a pain. What is the best way to get to the rear plugs? I read tilting the engine, removing the fuel rails, removing the sway bar. Not sure which is the best. Any insight on this? If its an engine tilt can someone detail the procedure?

You don't need to do any of that. The only rear plug that is difficult is #6, because the oxygen sensor blocks access. I use a flex head ratchet, a 3" wobble extension and a standard 5/8" plug socket. The biggest pain is the heat shields around the plug boots on the rear bank make it difficult to get the old wires off. I use a set of long handled needle nose pliers (ring-nose pliers would work even better) to work the rear plug wire boots off, as the heat shield gives you nothing to get a hold of with your hand. Total time for 6 plugs and wires was less than 1 hour. No engine tilting necessary. Don't use Bosch plugs, especially their gimmicky +2/+4 designs, as they are JUNK. Stick with OEM AC-Delco or any double platinum/single ground electrode plug like Autolite, Nippondenso or NGK (makers of many of GM's OEM platinums).
