anyone install a spacer between strut mounting bracket and tower?

hey all,
i've got a suspension noise since installing KYB gr2 struts. i found TSB 02-13-2 which discusses a grunting/ popping noise, and suggests use of 2f2z-18a027-ba spacers between the front strut assy mounting bracket and the strut tower.
has anyone installed one to cure the noise?
