Remote start causing some strange stuff

Hello folks,
On a 2004 Impala with the remote start function added by the dealer, is there a way to disable the feature and/or the alarm if starting issues are present? When attempting to start the car normally via the ignition, the alarm sounds and wont allow the car to start. I was told the problem began when the remote start was installed and this issue has came up at least one other time since. Any info would be appriciated....thanks

If youre trying to disable your alarm, all you should have to do (at least this is how its done on my 02), is hold the SEL button on your radio down for about 10 seconds. Make sure that thr radio is off when u do this, and the car must be in ACC or running. then you should get a list of options, one of those options is the alarm, and there is a option to turn it off. I hope you sill have the stock radio installed, if not, your screwed... Just my:2cents:
