oil shell

Anyone ever busted off the tangs on the oil filter shell? the service techs. tell me that this happens all the time. Just put a new gasket on and you are good to go. Still got some warranty left and I think they should buy me a new shell.

What year and model is your Saturn and with what engine?

2004 LW series, 3.0 engine. Already been blown off on warranty. They don't even have one in stock near me. Gotta drive a hour to get a new shell.:banghead: Here's to 4 day oil changes.

i always break them loose with a 15/16, and then use the 3/8 ratchet to take it off. but, if you got a new one, it probably doesn't have the 3/8 hole in it.
