My engine coolant/auto transaxle fluid light started blinking... Added antifreeze a couple of times, but didn't fix the problem... Car started to overheat... Took into Sear's... They said I had a cracked radiator, and $400 later I was good to go... The light started blinking again before I got out of the parking lot... Any ideas? Does it need to be reset?

My 94 SL2 does this when the fluid in the overflow reservoir gets low. Might be a bad switch if the fluid is OK. Did it really overheat? Since the air dam in the front was broken off by my wife the vehicle does tend to run hot when idling in traffic but it doesn't overheat. Temp gauge creeps up but then falls back down when thermostat opens.
I was told I had a cracked radiator by Saturn about 70,000 miles ago and that I had to replace it right away. Still waiting for the "right away" part.

if the overheat and low coolant light are both flashing, that can point to a bad coolant temp sensor and possibly bad connector to it too. if the sensor is cracked, the connector HAS to be replaced. only replace the sensor with a brass tipped one. plastic ones are junk, so dont buy until you look. normal parts stores usually keep the plastic ones, while the dealer has brass ones.
