Power Steering

Just a quick question:
I have a problem with my presure relief valve in the power steering. When I'm stopped at a light, if I turn the wheel just enough the oil pressure light will flicker and the RPMS drop slightly. Instead of changing out the pump, do you think by changing the fluid it may aleviate some of this problem? Don't want to have to go through the whole process.

Thanks
Dion

Good question, we've ben chatting about the PS steering switch causing idle problems in another thread. I'm not exactly sure what to tell you here but yes, I'd definitely try changing the fluid. I've got that on my list of things to do. However, I'm going to remove the PS switch and make sure there is no gunk around it and I'll let you know what happens when I do.

I recently got a scan tool and noticed that when I turn the wheel it appears it takes some time before the ps quits reporting the pressure change. This may be normal, but I thought it was odd.

If you decide to go ahead with the fluid change (I suggest the purge) then let us know if it helps.
