ok, hey heres the deal, my car sputters like a bitch when giving it gas below 3500 RPMs, above that it runs well and takes off like a bat out of hell, i got new plugs, and wires, and treated it with 2 bottles of stp fuel system cleaner...what could this be?

Check you distrib and cap get some alcohol clean it really good and reinstall. If it runns good get new ones that alcohol trick will only last a couple of days. It clean the cracks in your cap but if they are there it will collect dust again and cause it to mess up again. If thats the problem that is......

i just figured it out :jump: for audi. for those wondering...he's running the wrong distro.

he is using the 88-91 Si ecu and a d16z6 distributor. when i first did my swap i had troubles because i tried a p28 ecu with my a6 disto. same problem. you can't mix and match the distro's. most of all the other parts you can mix and match to some degree.

just thought i'd mention that for all who plan on doing that swap sometime soon :)

So, what setup would you recommend for my D16Y8 Ami?

Should I go with the P28 ECU and the Y8 dizzy?

Or, could I use my Si dizzy and ECU?

Or, should I use the Z6 dizzy and some other ECU?
