If my air/fuel ratio is running lean what can i do to correct it short of getting an aftermarket fuel controller?

thats sorta odd, most hondas i've seen go rich before anything. Check your fuel system. I'd say maybe replace the fuel filter or espically the 02 sensor.

it might be your fuel pump cause cars that old the fuel pump tends to pump less. get a fuel pressure regulator

well i just dropped a d16z6 with a 90 CRX si computer in my ride. It started flashing oxygen sensor engine code even though i've been using the same oxygen sensor since i bought the car and its been fine. i know its running lean because i drove it hard on the highway for about an hour and when i stopped, the catalytic converter was so hot i was smoking. plus the car runs really hot. Maybe i just need to retard the timing a little even tho i always run 91 octane fuel...

OK...this isn't a flame, but why do peeps run an ECU that isn't made for the engine they have in the car, and then ask questions like "why is my car running poorly?" without providing the history upfront? :bloated:
I think it would have been nice to say "I have a d16z6 with a pm6 ECU, and it is running lean....any suggestions?" then you can get help a lot quicker.
So when you put in the d16z6 - did you keep your 4th gen intake manifold, etc??

When a cat gets so hot it's smoking it's usually from the car running too RICH from my experience
