Replacing Fuel filter

I have a 94 SL with the 1.9L SOHC.
I am trying to replace the Fuel Filter, but seems very difficult to pull off the old one. Is there a special tool I need or something special I need to do to pull it off? It looks like is should just pull off from the top of the hose. The bottom of it, I can not get enough leverage until I pull off the top first.
Any help would be great! Thanks

yes, a quick-release tool is needed. the little donut shaped part of the line has a spring inside, snap the tool around the line, then push into the donut to release the spring.

Is this something I can pick up from any autopart store?

you can remove the locks with regular pliers. The fuel filter is expensive for that car $29-$49. I replaced mine with a 93 ford f150 metal filter which costs $3.99. and two 29 cent clamps and that worked perfect for me!
