check out the ZC... it is a direct bolt in and the 92-95 turbo kit will bolt on to it. this is the road im taking this winter. The ZC can be purchased for roughly $500. ut since you have a std civic it will take a little to get it up and running. however this is a great cheap engine to swap in. If you do the research on it the wiring modifications will be a breeze and the extra hp over the 1.5l you have now will definatley be fun to have.

would people stop saying it costs 1300 for a b16a1 swap thats off b/c you need mounts a custom shift linkage and your gonna wanna replace worn items on the engine and put in a new cluch so your not looking at 1300 for a complete swap b/c you never know what your gonna get for your 1300

yeah thats true, a shop installs it for around $3000. you will need an engine tranny ecu = $1200, motor mounts = $450, wiring harness $300, axles = $200, new clutch water pump timing belt = $400 so your looking at like $2600 for all the parts you need.

i was looking at swapping the 5g d16 vtec into mine and turboing it out. Anybody think this is a bad idea?

if you want to run 10s eventually then yes its a bad idea. if you only wanna run like 13s then thats a good idea. but i think 13s or faster you should go b series

I've heard that B18A with everything you need shouldn't cost more than $1000 or so. It's from the 90-91 ODB-0 Integras and is an easy swap.

that is exactly why i am so scik of all the b series nazi's. outta flippin' control. you need axles, motor mounts, shiftlinkage, and a bunch of other garbage.

plain english...and yet how many people said....get a b series. WTF? am i the only one who listens to what people ask for? no matter what people say they want you say "get the b16". then i get e-mails saying "have any links on the b16 everybody says thats the engine to get" i give some links then the person comes back all bummed and discouraged because they found out it's too expensive (some how people "forget" to mention all the extra parts...they just mention $1000 for the engine) and it's waaaay to much work for them to swap in. sorry but if someone is in here asking what engine to go with...chance are they have NEVER swapped before and have no or a limited amount of tools.

it is a great idea! sohc vtec $500+ECU $150+ harness $150=that's it.

you can build a d series turbo kit to run 10-14psi safely with no internal mods for around $1500 or get it all put together for you for around $2000.

check out the link i posted above

I only know what people tell me. I've never seen any site that sells B18As so I don't know much they cost.

But I am pretty sure you don't need new linkage if you modify your old one, and Axels are like $60 each, that isn't that much. And Mounts can be had for $300 new these days for HASports. I still am not sure how much the actual engine costs, maybe $800. But still you can get by with $1500 probably, which is total, and still not that much.
