I am new to the site and have been amazed and shocked at the # of times I have gone "oh my god mine does that too" I have a 99 windstar with over 100,000 miles on it got transmission replaced in may also the instrument cluster because my odemeter wasn't reading and in order to have a warranty they had to be able to read the miles. Other than that the problems have been minor windows not working and such. My problem now is that I seem to not have a 'cruising gear' if thats whats it's called. When I get to higher speeds above 60-65 it feels like it should down shift and my RPM's should drop but it doesn't it stays at over 3000 RPMs and getting ready to drive several 100 miles and am scared what that might do to the transmission and gas mileage. Have been reading about the TRS sensor "is called something else guy at autozone and kragens both did not know what it was' and was wondering if that could be it??appreciate help ASAP also where is it on transmission???

You're probably looking for the TSS - Turbine Speed Sensor.
Take a look at this thread:

The sensor is reasonably priced (say, $40 or less) and isn't terribly difficult to get to. That said, I haven't done it myself.
