For the adrenaline rush. Also have a great feeling when you've just beaten someone who has so many stickers, so many mods on their body, and realize that they don't have anything under their hood. I'm sure it makes them look like suckers, hehe! :D Eh, no offense meant to those who are in it for the looks, but those I meet on the street seems to think as if they could actually race...

I gain a lot of respect for racers, when they take a car that couldnt beat a kid pushing a shopping cart (overexaderation)(i also cant spell) and make it into something awesome, thats when the most respect is earned. But i have very little respect for kids that got their car from their parents. And im not talking about an older car, like a 4g, im talking about a 2002 or relativly new, i just hate that. And thats all i have to say about that.

Yeah, and I hate it when people make generalizations about having newer cars that they think must be parent-bought:mad:

Why do you hate that? Because their parents can afford to buy them a brand new car and yours can't and you're jealous? Or do you just assume that because they have a nice new car that they are extremely spoiled? And you never stop to think that being spoiled has nothing to do with money. It's not about how much money you have. It's about how you are treated and how you treat other people. So which of those is it...? Or something else I'm not thinking of?

okay, i guess i should of made myself a little clearer, i dont care if someone's parents can buy them a brand new car, but when they go around and acting like their the shit, thats when i hate them. Try taking a crappy car making it fast, then u'll have something to be happy about.

I understand about people acting like the shit as you put it. But once again, that has nothing to do with the car. That's the person. I've seen people with 88 Accord DXs acting that exact way. I personally would much rather start with an NSX than a Honda Civic, but maybe that's just me. I'd be happy making a crappy car fast, but I'd much rather never have to start out with a carppy car. I think that's everyone though.

I'm not trying to jump on you or talk trash. But if my parents bought me a brand new M3 or something to that effect, yes, i'd be acting like i'm the shit. Also, my parents gave me the down payment for this one. I have paid for it by myself now. Also, i'm not the richest man, and my family supports me kinda like a sponsor. It doesn't matter where the money comes, if i have a fast car that's what i got.

oh no, not at all. I understood exactly what you meant. I just wanted to let you know that some of us that also get money from our families to support our needs understand where it came from and aren't dicks that think we have hot shit when we didn't put all of our own money into it. There are some people that are cocky as hell that haven't spent a dime of their own money on their cars and act like they did it all themselves and they are very annoying.

yea and thats cool that some people can get the money from their parents, but alot of kids like me, have to work our asses off to get what we want, but sometimes we dont get it and i know with me paying for my car myself, im gonna respect it..well..when im not driving it, but when i am driving it, i beat the hell out of it.

Yea, I know exactly what you meant to. I didn't mean to jump down your throat or anything. It's just that I hear bullsh*t like that so much. Not like you're saying it, but people who know that my family does have money and does help me pay for things they just joke around and say stuff like "awww Self is spoiled", or "matt's mommy&daddy bought it" and stuff like that. And sometimes they're right, but sometime's they're wrong. And I never understand why I have to be made fun of and picked at because my parents have money and treat me to some of the luxuries they are able to afford and enjoy. I am not cocky about money and I'm not spoiled. I've earned everything I have in one way or another; rather it be through working or helping out, or through making good grades in school. I'd say that 50% of the money put into my cars comes from me and the other half from my parents. And there's nothing wrong with that. To other people who's parents aren't able to or don't want to do that, I'm sorry. And it's GREAT that you go for it and do it on your own, that's fantastic, much respect to you for that. BUT at the same time, don't try and say that you have more respect for you car than I do b/c you payed for it, or that you know more about it or take better care of it than I do for mine. My 1995 Camaro Z28 doesn't see rain, sleet, or snow for the most part. It gets a fresh Zaino treament every other month. It is meticulously cared for, and I know everything there is to know about my particular car and how it acts and reacts to certain things. Honestly, there are few people who know their car as well as I know mine. That's because I've spent to much time dealing with it. 95% of the work was done by myself, my father, and my friends. So it just irritates me when I hear people saying that because I didn't PAY for everything I'm spoiled, or that I can't appreciate it as much.
Oh, btw, if you didn't notice, I'M NOT talking about YOU, I'm just saying in general. I think you know what I'm saying, where i'm coming from.:)
