Between fujimi and Heller/Union/Wave ferrari 330p4 kit. What are the pros and cons? Which one has better body? I know heller has engine. Fujimi has PE part. What is the market price for the Heller kit now? Thanks.

Fujimi's looks best in every way, better body, wheels, tires etc.
Fujimi's is delicately mastered where the Heller/Union, which is the same kit, is heavier handed.

I think implanting the Heller engine into the Fujimi kit is the best option. In other words, if you want to make a detailed P4 model, you'll need both kits.

IIRC Renaissance make an interesting up-grade kit for the 330 that includes resin and p/e parts. Maybe RMoM also make smthng.
I could be wrong about this however, but it would be worth you while to check out Renaissance's web site.
EDIT: I wasn't wrong :) here you go:
Transkit (http://www.renaissance-models.com/1-24/TK_pour_site/tk24_210.htm) and decals (http://www.renaissance-models.com/1-24/TK_pour_site/tk24_209.htm)
I'm tempted myself now!

Model Factory Hiro version is the best if you don't mind the price. But in order to build an accurate one from plastic kit you will have to spend almost the same amount of $$ anyway.

I love the detail of the MFH kits, but the P4 is a kit I'd like to have opening panels/doors and that's something I think would be difficult on the MFH.
I was disappointed on the MFH 250 GTO as the body is so thick in the door area, it would be a royal pain to open that up:banghead: .
I just got the Renaissance Transkit from Strada Sports and plan to use the Heller engine and some other stuff from the parts box to add detail.

I know the Heller /Union/Wave it's not the best among the ones in existence, but, I have a lot of fun building this one tryin to replicate the #21 1967 Le Mans 2nd place. This one was built before the Fujimi reissue or the MFH version. I think it's better than the 917K's Heller produced in the early 70's.

Harold Bradford, the fellow who makes the Porsche 917K engine kit, is working on an engine and body kit for the Fujimi P4. It will probably be a better and more easily workable solution than kit bashing with the Heller kit. So if you aren't in a big hurry i would wait for the resin engine.

@ Ron - would this kit also include PE parts, do you know?

It probably won't have any PE. It will probably consist of a resin engine, oil tanks and other bits needed to detail the engine bay. I believe he told me he would have two versions; one without a new body and one with a new two part body for those who don't want to cut open the kit body themselves.

Another way, also to do an engine to the Accademy 250LM:
The engine block is alsmost a 250 V12 Colombo, so is pretty good a GTO V12 3l. block, obviously with some changes (distributors ecc.). For the gearbox we could look at the Protar 512S: seem ok to me.

Will fujimi restock/ reissue more on this one??
http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ12276
I only got 1 when HLJ put it on preorder. I was thinking about ordering more when hlj has it in stock. This kit just go right to "discontinue". I tried R10, hobbysearch and hobbyworld. All the other shop doesn't even has it on the list at ALL!! Damn! I want another one!

Ebay is also a good source and price are not so high.
Regarding the selection of the kit I have always thought that the rear of the Heller /Union/Wave kit was not that correct.
You need a lot of patience with the renaissance tras-kit is requires some adjustments and the front radiator includes dozens of PE parts !

That would sure save me a lot of work and I won't get at mine until after Christmas at the earliest.:grinyes:
