Enthusiast: One who is ardently absorbed in an interest or pursuit
Bigot: One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.
94svt is an enthusiast who is intolerant of those who differ... Oh wait... that's a bigot.
You should swallow your pride, show some maturity, and say:
"I'm sorry for being such a jerk to you Honda owners. I realize that, no matter how much I try, I will never sway you into liking Fords (or whatever the hell my goal is). I know I have already wasted a considerable amount of my time and it's time for me to leave. Bubye."
You have a terrible, closed minded attitude. I feel sorry for your kids and everyone around you for that matter. That includes AF members.
H, blue oval, bowtie... black, white, mexican... see the connection? Open up your mind a little bit...

If Ford is putting out SIMILAR hp and torque numbers out of an engine that is quite a bit smaller, I really don't think they are playing catch up. What the heck are you smoking? The cobra is supercharged thats how they get those numbers out of that smaler engine. they have to use forced induction to keep up.

Ya I think those two will be somewhat close stock (RX7 & S2K). But the aftermarket is in favor of the RX7. There are some mean RX7's running around. I hope I didn't spell anything wrong here, might get flamed for three pages :D

In stock cobra form without supercharger, aka 01 and 99 cobras made 320hp, thats comparable to the camaro ss with a 5.7 liter engine. Now the blower puts it in corvette hp territory. All this with just 4.6 liters.

And where did you get those numbers since all the new cobras are supercharged? And isn't a cobra engine just a GT engine with a blower? Also ask any camaro or firebird guy here what happens when you allow the 5.7L to breathe properly.

He said "aka the '01 and '99 cobras". Which were not s/c and making 320hp.

Yeap, he was referring to the pre-03 Cobra's...But allow a Z to breathe properly(intake, LTs, Exhaust/Cutout) And you will pick up about 40 - 50 rwhp...Very nice gain from basic boltons.

The cobra engine is in no way a blower add to a GT. The Gt motor is a 4.6 sohc, the cobra motor is a duel over head cam, thats 32 valves. Ask any mustang guy what happens when you open up the breathing on a mustang as well.

Yeah, you void your warranty and your car falls apart and you are fukt.
As for this argument, it's lame. the supercharger does not put it in corvette hp territory, f-bodies are just horribly underrated compared to corvettes. Hell, some guys dyno at the wheels close to the factory rated crank hp. and wasn't the '99 cobra that had a massive recall because they could even make their stated crank hp???

What, does it not void the warenty on the camaro? or have they stopped puting warrantys on those things? About the car falling apart, what do you base that on? another little tidbit you made up? The fact that the cobra hp rating exceeds the base corvette hp rating does not put it in their territory? What are you smoking? You cant just pop in with your homemade facts and think anyone will listen to you.

build quality on ford cars is crap, period. I did autoglass for 4 years, and stereos for 2, so I have pulled apart my fair share of all types of cars, and I know how they are put together.
as for my statement about the warranty, when my friend bought his 2002 GT, he said he can't change the exhaust, intake, suspension or anything, unless he did it through ford and was intalled by them. As far as I know, this is not true for GM.
the supercharger does not put it in corvette hp territory
I suppose this was poorly stated. What I was pointing out was that so what if it is in corvette hp area, all the ls1 powered cars are right there. I was actually trying to point out that even thought the 99+ were rated at 320 crank hp, they are also in no way close to an ls1 that occasionally put close to 320 to the wheels.

Yes, the c5 is an LS1-powered car, but I know what you mean. LS1 Birds and Camaro's are right there as well, although they would get outran by the new Cobra.

This isn't really a valid statement, but kinda funny nonetheless...:D
Stock LS1s dyno right at about 305rwhp...I've seen more than 10 stock LS1s dyno, and if memory serves me right(which is does:D ), that's about the average, 305-310rwhp. Which means they have right around 350 crank hp...VERY underrated vehicles, same with the C5...

actually, ive installed exhaust and X pipe on my friends new GT. the only reason youd need to go anywhere is to get the pipe cut, since they install the exhaust before the rear end. But, you can rent a pipe cutter at autozone. it was a pretty straightforward install though..
although i have heard that you have to take out the motor to install headers. anyone know if this is true or not?

Its extremly hard to put headers on a cobra 4.6 I have heard of people jacking up the engine abit for esier install.
