Possible trans probs? (not related to the below post :) )

I just bought a 97 sl2 and after it runs a bit it does seem a BIT harder to shift. Also when warmed up, and sitting at a red light, clutch in and in 1st waiting for the green, sometimes it seems like the trans is TRYING to engage (or maybe I am misjudging).. what happens is i am idling smoothly and all then all of a sudden the engine gets real rough and the car shakes a bit. when i take it out of gear the problem stops.
is this the throwout bearing possibly (i have no clue when or if it was ever changed), or could this also be related to the post below and be a mster/slave cylender issue?

it could also be a bad mount

holding the clutch pedal down for extended periods of time(more then a few seconds) will put premature wear on both the throw out bearing and the thrust bearing inside the engine and can in turn cause a draging clutch. the solution, shift into neutral when stopped and stay in gear and/or downshift when slowing to a stop, and don't rest your foot on the pedal while cruseing. you should have the clutch system inspected when possible, hopefully only a minimal amount of damage has been done already.

yeah, stay off the pedal when sitting for a while, or coasting. you could have a leaking slave/master cylinder
