2002 SL1 won't stay running computer problems

We have a 2002 SL1 which was hit in the front the PCM module is not working. We order a used one from the salvage yard EXACT same part numbers. When installed the car will run for a few seconds and die. The security light is flashing. I have been told it is a security thing because the BCM module does not reconize the PCM module. The dealer is telling me they cannot resinked (reprogram) the used PCM module with the BCM Module. Is this true? What are my options rather then buing a new PCM ($1400)

it does sound like the security system is preventing the engine from running(why GM didn't just kill the starter, i don't know)

try another dealership, although what they say maybe true, they may just be trying to cover their butts incase infact the PCM is the wrong part. i'm not that familuar with PCM reprograming/reflashing
