How old are you G-ealousy? I own a G20 also and work very hard for my car but I know when to draw the line. Both cars I don't like but I have to respect them for their performance capabilities. Our lil G would barely be able to keep up. Now if you was to look at the aftermarket for both cars the Honda would win.

I think we all need to learn something from one another. Imagine a 6 Liter V12 with the specific output of an RX-7:cool: . I would kill for the ~930hp and god knows how much torque that car would have. It'd be like driving the Susuki Escudo pikes peak (you know the one in GT3 that can be modded to 1800 horses). Boy how much fun would that be. Or imagine a 5.7 liter 4 banger with the specific output of the RX-7 I'd like to see a four banger with a clinder that big. And to have variable timing too. sheesh.

Yeah, but it runs at 7 pounds of boost! The Porsche 931 also has a turbo 4 cylinder running on 7lbs... You raise the boost, you raise the power! They were pretty small engines though...

What does age have to do with anything? And, what "line" did I cross? Just so ya know, A P11 has 5 more horses then the P10. A P11 has 145 horses and a Si 1.6 VTEC and 2.0 (RSX engine) has 160, so, 15 horses isn't exactly enough to "smoke" me. I've raced em. An RSX, true, may get me good as Honda has changed their air induction for the RSX, but the civic? With a stock air box? I've owned it, and it's not all that great. Also, if you do your homework, a SR20DET (Primera turbo) engine (a DOHC... the Horsepower is 205 at 6000 rpms) swap would be PLENTY to be blowin em outta the water. Even if a civic owner swapped for a stock 2.0 VTEC, it still only rocks 160 horses. Less they start modifyin with some nitrous or something. So, I dunno, you can go trade in your G for one of the 2 cars, but, I'm stayin right where I am....

Believe me I know alot about the SR20. I also know what the post was about. I just think that an engine with a high specific output and a large displacement would be cool to see. No matter what car it was in.

I actually have a friend going to Japan (via: Military). I am gonna try to have him send me back the exhaust manifold, and turbo from a det there. I wanted to do the swap, but (seeing as though I have an automatic) the tranny might not like it. All I want to do is outrun an RSX Type-R

Besides: I'll take the side of a G owner before I take the side of another. It's all about the close knit family that having an Infiniti puts you in.....:D I wanted to blast the other guy, but somehow you caught it instead, my bad.

FYI for everybody in here.

The 2004 Focus SVT will be powered by a 225HP turbo-charged Mazda engine...which will be finding it's way into the up-coming Protege's also. I am a Honda enthusiast, but most importantly, a CAR enhtusiast...I wouldn't mind either vehicle in my garage...

...just an aside, the Mazda 6 MPS version will have a 280HP turbo V6 with AWD, at least in Europe...I am fervently praying that that car finds its way Stateside...

I've got to agree with the new Mazda Atenza. (6, what the hell kind of a name for a car is 6? And Mazda wonders why nobody remembers their mainstream cars. It's because the public generally doesn't like Alphanumeric designations for their family sedans, even if the names don't make sense ala Nubira, Alero, Camry, Leganza...) Those cars look pretty, and should drive well. It's good that at least one mainstream car company still cares if their cars look pretty or not. Everyone else seems to be trying to out-ugly each other. (Honda and Toyota and Ford and Chevy) Nissan seems to be avoiding this, thankfully.

The little turbo Mazdaspeed Protege is the second best driving FF car in production today, the new Mini Cooper S being the first. The fact that the Focus has a few things in common with the Protege under the skin gives it an edge, even though the cars have totally different suspension geometry. The turbo engine is a strong runner, and plenty revvy (love revvy engines).

Right now, I'm trying to find a dealership that'll let me test drive the new Neon SRT-4 turbo. 210hp factory, FF, 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, and an $18,000 price tag..... hmmm. We could have number three here.

Whoever called the ZX2 slow was WRONG. The 1998 {first year} ZX2 will go 0-60 in 7.4 seconds. The 2003 Civic Si is supposed to go 0-60 in 7.7 seconds.

The ZX2 is FAR from slow as anyone who has ever ACTUALLY driven one will tell you. Sure it doesn't have an amazing amount of hp, but it IS quick to accelerate. It's also fun to drive.

It's 0-60 is only 2-3 seconds off the so-called "sportier" cars...

Come on, leave off what may be the best small car on the domestic market.

thats funny i raced a ZX2 and wasted it
then a couple of days later i raced an Si and it beat me by a car length
(note this was back when i was still living in the US driving a Volvo T5)

Ford does not over rate their horsepower, they had lawsuits in the past for doing that so they don't anymore, they now actually underrate their horsepower. Ford says at the flywheel that the new 03 Cobra has 390hp I read an article about the new cobra the one in muscle mustangs and fast fords the one where they put the 03 cobra up against the 35th anniversry camaro, they dynoed the Cobra and it got 381hp to the wheels, which means that at the flywheel it probably has somewhere over 400hp.

Not when compared to other compact coupes! Think in terms of its class. The Cobra, for example, is a faster car, which is to be expected as it's a totally different class. The sportier cars 2-3 secs above it ARE in a different class.

Again, let me say, leave the judging of the ZX2's speed to people that have actually driven one. I can't judge the Civic Si, since I never drove one, but I can judge the ZX2, which I am priviledged enough to drive EVERY DAY!

Nothing any of you can say will persuade me otherwise. The ZX2 is fast, beautiful, and a great value for its class. Would I rather have a Cobra? Sure, who wouldn't?

I'm sorry, but the Dodge/Plymouth Neons with the 160hp DOHC 2.0L was the sporty coupe in the $18,000-and-under range in the 90's. To directly quote Motor Trend Magazine "Our Dodge Neon R/T was a mini-mini Viper."

Seriously, to 60mph they hung with LX Mustangs and trounced even the mighty Integra, while claiming numerous SCCA Showroom Stock titles along the way.

Tell me the half-baked holdover ZX2 has a competition history or that level of performance. It had better, since new to new the ZX2 cost about 2grand MORE.
