01 L200 cigarette lighter

i recently purchased a 2001 Saturn L200 and the power to the cigarette lighter stays on even when i shut the car off... in every other car i've owned the power to the cigarette lighter shuts off when the car is off... I'm referring to the actual cigarette lighter, not the 12 volt power supply. any info on this would be appreciated, thanks!
