01 Windstar Sport Driver's Power Seat

Some time ago the driver's power seat stopped working completely, like either the whole switch took a dive or a main fuse blew to the seat. Neither is the case. Took it to a dealership and they said the seat rail needed replacing and they wanted buqu bucks to replace it. Anyone had the same problem and a better/different fix? Thanks.
