does anyone have a pic. of the location of the vss.? or maybe explain to me where it is located......

My experience is with the '96 3.8L, but should be the same. It is located on the transmission, on the passenger end. Best view of it (if it exists :) ) is from underneath the van. On my van there is a frame member and the odd bank exhaust manifold in the way of getting at it. It should have a heat shield which may make it easier to see/find.

^ yup! It in very hard to see and is under a metal shield under the exhaust manifold on the trans.
