I have a 96 Windstar with 3.8L front and rear a/c combo. I changed the condensor and evaporator last year and they ran fine. Now I am having a problem. My front a/c is blowing luke warm air (about 80 on a 95 degree day) and the back is blowing cold air (62 on a 95 day). I have checked the freon charge and it is reading good. Any one have any ideas? Does anyone have a diagram of the vents doors? I am flustered.:banghead:

That back end is not as cold as it should be.
What is the low and high side readings at idle and at 2000 rpm compresser running?
Have you got good vacume from engine to ac controls?

Hi,
I at first blush suspect the hot/cold blend door. Unlike the vents, it is controled electrically. Perhaps it is not closing fully. It is located immediately downstream of the evaporator core and and is contolled by an electric actuator. I have not had the problem, but you might run a search on the blend door to see what you find. Do you seem to have any temp control at all, i.e. can you make hot air?
