how long will they run?

I am looking at buying a pt crusier, and I was wondering how many miles they seem to last .

I have an '02 5-spd with 96K on it now. No problems at all so far. Just getting ready to do the timing belt and water pump so it will last another 100K. I have heard of some problems with auto transmissions, also one person I heard about had the water pump fail at 82K. Mostly they seem to hold up really well. Consumer Reports actually rates them near the top of the heap as a 'best buy' for reliability and a trouble-free long life.

I have had many cars in my day. Since you are doing all regular repairs, switch to synthetic oil and you could get 305,000, canadian miles no problem. I just bought a pt in o5 and had to get rid of the caravan, but it still was running.
