hello, every one. I am new here.
I have a 1997 windsatr with 3.8L engine. I just changed it's headgasket today. After start, every thing is ok except the brake light on.
After the first glance, I did not care the brake light.
After I check other stuff and make sure the engine running ok, I try to drive it. Then I found the fuel pedal out of order and can not be applied. And the car just move in idle speed
I wonder maybe there is some kind of serser about brake gave wrong informaton to computer(This why brake light on) and the computer let the fuel pedal out of order in order to protect the car(This is why the fuel pedal can not work).
Am I right? who have this kind of experience about this kind of wear thing?
By the way, I do remember There is one special terminal near the Throttle body and I can not find where it going. So, I just connected it with TB.
Is it cause the fuel pedal does not work?
Thanks.

Hi
I am not sure you have a sensor problem with the throttle. I think mechanically something is possibly not hooked up correctly. You should be able to verify with the engine off moving the throttle pedal and watching the linkage and throttle valve in the Throttle body. With that said, if the connector you re-attached was for the throttle position sensor, I suppose it not being connected could have caused your problem. If you ran it for long without it hooked up however, you should have triggered the check engine light. I do not think that a brake on indication will cause the PCM to limit fuel flow. I can drive my van while "power braking" and it would let me drive all day with the parking brake set too.
