how strong is the rear deck.

hi, i was looking to get a sub for my 96 sl2 and well the sub i want is roughly 100 punds and i was wondering if that would be able to hold that weight and if it will be able to handlde the bass that it put's out the sub is a kicker solo x i was looking at the 18inch one but i am thinking that it might be able to fit but the spec for the sub are. 10k watts max and 5k rms while the 12 are 2500 rms and 5000 max. so would it be able to handle that? plus the weight of the sub? and yes i am going to be putting in a higher output alternator for it.

just curious, Where do you get 360 amps to run a 5000 wrms speaker? Not to mention that the amp won't be 100% efficient.
W= I x E.
At 14 volts (E), 357 amps (I), equals 5000 W.
5000 W is also almost 7 hp, and with efficiencies, will take say 11 hp from the engine, which will about half your fuel economy, as the car needs about 12 hp to cruise at hiway speeds. Of course, you'll need to run the A/C all the time to dissipate the extra 17000 BTU (that's equalivatent to about a 1.5 ton central air unit for a house) that the sub will generate, and that will take more fuel.
I wonder if the cooling system is built for such a high load.
My factory system will run cleanly at 95 db.
Hearring damage starts at 100 db.
I thought the idea was to enjoy music....

you get the 360 amps by running dual alternators and dual batterys. and you also add turbo to take anyway any of the engine losing power thing
