I've had my 99 maxima for over a year and it is by far the best car I have ever owned. Now it's down to business. I've decided to starts some mods. It's alredy got a Stillen exhaust with a cold air intake on the way. Next focus is on suspention (134,000 on original) and from there all engine mods.
What I am looking for is a method to the madness. What should come first or even be done to help boost perfromance and where can I get it. I thought I would start with what other people have done, what has worked for them, and what they wish the could have or never should have done.
Any and all hints or tips are welcome!

when i had my 4th gen i went intake, cat back and then down pipe(y-pipe). the down pipe is by far the best bang for your buck mod there is for a 4th gen. it makes peak gains of 30 hp and average of 18 hp gains past 4000 rpm, the only down side is that if your cat back exhaust doesn't have a resonator the y pipe is gonna make the car loud as hell.
here's a dyno of stock vs equipped with an aftermarket downpipe.

this is the pipe I had on my 95:

it's from Budget Exhaust company, but i don't know if they're in business anymore. Catman and Warpspeed makes them for 4th gens though. i'd go with cattman since they specialize mostly in Nissan cars.

I know I'm not the only one out there trying to work on a maxima. Any ideas for struts and springs. I'm not so sure on the ones I was going to get.

AWESOME....what kind?
I was thinking of getting the GR-2 Struts with my stock springs and getting a strut bar. This needs to be a family car still so I'm looking for some proformance, but still need a smooth ride.

There are different generations of most cars. They relate them to the differend body styles of the vehicle. 4th generation Maximas last from 95 to 99.
