Stiff strut...

I just installed the police package strut towers into my 2002 Impala LS. They were from a 2002 impala with a blown engine that had something like 550 miles on it. I noticed that the rear left strut makes a bumping sound sometimes, it is also very stiff if I try to bounce the car by pushing on the bumper by that corner. It still dampens the spring movement, just makes the ride very bouncey. What could be causing this? Bad spring or did something break inside the strut cart?

Thanks!

Help me out here, why did you do this? Does it lower the the car? I assume you did all four. Did you change out sway bars as well? On the other hand sounds like faulty strut (worn out or damaged).

The 9C1 and 9C3 Impalas have stiffer suspension, and they also ride justa hair higher than the rest of the Impalas. They have different struts and possibly springs as well. as well and the 9CX's have better sway bars and trailing arms, overall a beffier suspension.

so the firmer feel, is normal, if you didn't do all of them, your going to experience a very odd un-even ride as a result.
