EGR valve

ive been told when replacing my EGR valve that i need special numbers off it tell wich one to replace it with. is that anyway to find these numbers without having to take my car apart. like can you tell byy my make and model? its a 94 SL1 SOHC. lastly how do i get the brace that holds the egr valve on off? thanx

are you going to be getting a stock one for an aftermarket one becuase a stock one might last longer and then you don't need numbers cuase it would from a dealer

i went to a local parts store and asked what they had. i assume those are all after market. they told me theres some special numbers stamped on it that would let me know which one to purchase as a replacement. i figure as long as its brand new it better than what i have.
