blown head gasket..?

I need to buy a car for my girl friend to go to school with and back with.. she will have to drive 2 hours there and 2 back.. every time she comes down.. anyways.. I found this 94 sable.. 100k miles.. new tranny... ac is great.. every thing is great except he just blow up the head gasket.. how long.. and how hard is it to change? are these good cars? good in snow? are there any problems or complications when changing the head gasket?

If a 3.8
They had head gaskets problems from day one.
Even a big recall that is now over.
Make sure it was not ran real hot or with coolant in the oil.
If just a head gasket the heads will need reworked and plained and new had bolts.
They had transmission problems to. Which explains the new trans.
With Good tires They handle as good as any front wheel drive in snow but are not a 4 wheel drive.
Can run up into 1000 $ bracked if no other problms.
