Most questions about model making will have been asked here before, not all of them I agree, but doing a search on a subject will most probably bring you results quicker.

It's very true, but if you are just starting out and have dozens of questions, will it be still quicker to use search? I kind of doubt it. It defeats the purpose of using the Internet, in my opinion. Or am I being too nice?

If you know what to ask, but happens to have to many questions, send me one long private mail. I've been modeling since long before you were born, so I can answer to pretty much any questions that are associated with beginners.

The search function gives all kinds of responses from a lot of people. You can see what works best for you. If you ask one person he will give his opinion. And the purpose of the internet is to store information so people can find it? If everybody starts asking the same questions, it is much easier to give answers at a central location than to answer them over and over again. For specific questions which are not in the FAQ, you should be free to ask them.

AF originally had thought of this question, so they added the PM (private message) function. If you got a bunch of questions then why not just post 1 thread with your questions in it like I did: here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=257764)and here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=259918)
If you have like 30 questions like "should I use primer?" etc etc... that sort, please search first. Like Dr. Bobsaid, most questions you might ask have been asked and answered, and those which haven't been asked can be answered for everyone to see.
BTW I've noticed that the search function doesn't recognise words that have 3 letters or less, IE: BMF, Wax, c/a.... maybe the mods could check up on this?

Edit: One thing just occured to me. Most AIM users are in America. I only use MSN. There are many different types of messaging services around the world, wouldn't using af's pm service save a lot of hassle?

Official AIM Thread? What's so official about it? :screwy:
The search function won't accept three letter searches unfortunately. That is a policy decision taken by the administrator.
