1st, i'm new to the forum & i wanted to say whadup to everyone... i was looking for 4th gen sites & this is the 1st i found. i live in va, & i have a manual 4-speed 89 base model hatch. i was wondering if you guys could help me out? the problem is my pedals gets stuck, a lot. i keep needing to stick my foot under the accelerator pedal & pull it up so it will stop reving. when it gets stuck it sounds like it's at around 3 to 5 rpm's. i don't have a rpm gauge so that's why i said, "it sounds like". i've been told it might be the throttle body. but i haven't got it looked at yet. any comments/advice?
THANKS

Hey! Welcome to the board. Trust me, it's a gold-mine of knowledge and support.
Sorry, I haven't encountered that problem before, so I can't really help other than to say try some WD-40 or something on the pedal pivot points? Is it just your accellerator, or the clutch and brake as well?

the other thing you may want to check/replace is the throttle cable

I've had the exact same problem. Man on both of my civics. On my old one I tried using wd40 on the throttle body as well as carb cleaner. Neither really worked. I also got a cable from the wrecker, that was a bad idea. Just go to honda and get a new cable it fixed the problem on my new civic no problem, and its probably only about 20.00 to fix.

Just go with the honda one... I can't think of anything that would cause a throttle cable to be reffered to as a "performance throttle cable" other than a higher price-tag.
