Why then is Fujimi and Revell-Germany on such a roll??? Sure, their kits may not equal Tamiya's, but they are producing more and more 1/24 car kits.
This is a good point. I think that tamiy a are losing demand because thier models are very expensive, revell on the other hand, maybe feel that there is a big market, and so are increasing production. And they are right, because here in England revell kits are going to be nearly a thrid of the price of the newest tamiyas. And as things are going, i bought both enzos, and think that for my money the revell was better. Also with revells increasingly better engines and quality they are going to get a fair share of my cash in the future. Esoecially when the old school 6 series with engine becomes widely avaliable and the 2006 mustang. And I will get thier 599 in december/january when its out.

That's because Tamiya is a general hobby company, selling all kinds of models, including R/C, Mini-4WD and static models of various subjects.

You hire a certain number of people, and a particular subject turns out to be better selling than the others, you want to keep making similar items in the same category. It makes perfect business sense, right?

Tamiya started a whole new line of product--1/48 AFV--and they're releasing brand-new kits just as fast as Fujimi releases their car kits.

So, that's where Tamiya's human resources are located, as far as static models are concerned.

i dont know if any any one knows this yet but the new Tamiya slr mclaren only has the top half of the motor in it i ordered the kit for the shop and on the list it stated only with top half of motor and the bottom molded into the chassis

It's bad news in the good news. It will be that if it has die-cast chassis. I don't need that!!! Separated engine block and plastic chassis would be better. In my opinion, Tamiya should be made the die-cast rims instead (like in the resin kit) and including photoetched parts in box because in some country you can't find the aftermarket parts.

I hope 722 edition will be followed later.

This is just a reminder to wander the other forums of AF from time to time, because there's a wealth of reference to be found.

SLR fans, for example, might want to keep an eye on this thread:

Mercedes does have a white pearl now. Its a Designo color. Look for 2007 SL55's or CLS's with the color. I'm sure its similar.

Leon, how about that bright blue metallic I've seen on the SLR, or the Palladium gray?

Could you please tell me, do you know the paint code : designo mystic white edition, becouse I can't to find it.

Could you please tell me, do you know the paint code : designo mystic white edition, becouse I can't to find it.

It's 0038 code from Mercedes Benz, or for example it's X0026 code from Dupont.

ScaleColors has that tricoat paint if you want it.
