I have a problem with my key. The handle for the key doesn't hold the key in place. This causes problems with turning the key. Also after putting it in LOCK position and taking the key out and opening the door it chimes like with the key inside. I have to align them and then carefully try to turn both (handle and key) to start the engine.
Questions:
What could happen? Some bolt fell out?
How to get the plastic handle off to have a look at it?
Is it reparable?
I have a 3.0l 1997 European version.

Wow... How much do keys cost where you are at? Stop being so cheap and buy a new key...

it's not the problem with the key, but with the ingnition lock - sorry, but my english isn't so good as I wish.
When I put the key in the lock, I don't turn the key, but a special handle with the key inside - maybe it's different in 3.8L and 3.0L? In the pdf manual it looks different than mine. If I only could place a photo, it would help a lot in explaining...

I agree that a photo would help. I seem to remember someone had created a "sister" site for photos a while back and I even posted a couple at one time. If anyone remembers how or where our friend can post his photos please "ring in"

here it is:
http://www.pioter.go.pl/
You can see that the key and the knob isn't aligned. When ever this happens, I can't turn the key. Just like blocking the sterring wheel. When I managed to put them in line, I grab both and turn them together. Quite problematic, but it still works. But I wouldn't like to get it stuck for good.
How to repair this - or how to replace it?

Your problem may be that the key "tumbler" is worn out. A tumbler replacement kit includes a means to match the new tumbler to your current key shape.
You might first inspect and lubricate this whole area.
If you put the key in the "on" position ... disconnect battery ... and look upward under the key area, you will see a small hole into which you may press a small pin ... while pressing this unlatch, you can extract the key and tumbler.
I would suggest removing the covers from the steering column and giving all the linkages in the column a cleaning/lubrication. These linkages can cause extra wear and tear on the tumbler.

12ounce - thank's. I've added new photos. On the last one arrows shows place where two part can slightly twist. How to dismount these two parts and check what's wrong? I'm a bit affraid od Murphys law and find some extra parts if I don't do it properly. Or what should I order and replace so the key will fit? The key itself looks a bit more worn out, when I compare it with the "spare" one.

If you send me a private message with your complete vehicle VIN number, I will try to get the correct part number to you.
I see you now have withdrawn the tumbler. I would suggest you also take the column covers off and lubricate the linkages you find inside ... all the way down to the "electric switch".
Also check to see how easy it is to shift the "switch". If the switch, or the linkages, put too much additional load on the tumbler ... it will fail prematurely.
